Gluten-free Baking Classes
Real Food Made Easy will be holding our second in a series of gluten-free baking classes on July 17 , 2010!
When: Saturday July 17, 2010, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Where: 2863 Foul Bay Road (The original Charelli’s space!)
Do you need to eat gluten-free and feel like you are missing out on baked goods? This class is all about gluten-free cookies and bars.
Space is limited to 10 people, on a first-come first-serve basis, for a cost of $40 per person. Payment in advance is required to secure your space. (Payment can be made at Charelli’s, 2851 Foul Bay Rd, phone: 250-598-4794 )
The class will include:
- An overview of basic techniques for successfully making gluten-free Cookies and Bars (this includes brownies!!!). We’ll be providing some tips for where and how dairy and egg substitutions can be successfully made.
- An outline of some critical techniques that will help make your gluten-free cookie baking at home a success, including discussion of some of the gluten-free flours that lend themselves best to cookies.
- A demonstration of all steps of the cookie-making from mixing to baking.
- A recipe booklet with 6 different gluten-free cookie and bar recipes and our weight-volume chart for a variety of gluten-free flours.
- Tasters will be provided in-class for all of the take-home recipes
- Gluten-free snacks provided during the class (again, please let us know in advance of any food allergies)
Refunds will be provided for any cancellations made up to 1 week prior to the class. Any cancellations made less than 1 week before the class will be non-refundable.
While this is an introductory course, we are assuming that participants will have some prior experience baking (gluten-free or wheat-based)
